Message from the Mayor

Greetings, 

 

The City of Ramsey is headed for a bright future, and The COR will be a significant part of our success. The Ramsey Housing and Redevelopment Authority and our Economic Development Authority have worked hard to reposition the former Ramsey Town Center property into a distinct and exciting regional destination for residents and visitors alike. 

 

The COR is becoming the center of commercial, retail, housing and recreational areas in a transit-oriented development that is the first of its kind in the state. Our goal is to catch the attention of development that makes sense as our economy recovers, while minimizing taxpayer risk. The COR will create jobs, expand the regional economy and increase our tax base so we can reduce the need for future tax increases.

 

Momentum is building as a mix of businesses, restaurants and other services set up shop. The COR is bringing new faces to Ramsey, outdoor and other spaces for connecting with old friends, and jobs and other opportunities that will allow our community to continue to thrive. 

 

We are committed to developing The COR in a responsible and accountable way that is receptive to community needs and expectations. We live in one of the fastest growing communities in the Midwest, and there is no better time than now to make transportation and quality-of-life improvements as the economy begins to recover. I’m excited about the new vision of The COR and hope you will join me in celebrating the benefits of our community’s hard work and commitment.
